I can’t believe another week has passed and I’m already writing another update. If time flies when you’re having fun, it flies faster when you’re busy as shit. And we’ve been busy as shit.
Let’s just dive right in.
Forgive the Escape Characters
First off, coding in Ren’py is starting to take its toll on my brain. I find myself putting escape characters everywhere. If you see the occasional backslash in front of an apostrophe, please ignore it. This is just python echoing in my brain.
Going forward the weekly update will once again become a public post. Doing so helps us streamline our communication and reduces the amount of work we must do each month on upkeep. Creating seven news posts a month was not only redundant but require more work than I would have imagined. Of course, we must take out the occasional naughty pics, but it’s a small price to pay.
Change to the Tier Reward System
After some grueling debate, a poll with our patrons and some financial analytic assessments we’ve decided to go to a two-tier reward system. Without going into all the details, this set up requires less maintenance on our part, less reward tracking, looser constraints and we’ll only have to compile our game once. It’s a win-win for us and our patrons. The new details are as follows:
$1 Patrons – Will get access to the game 3 weeks before the public release and will have access to the teaser scenes we post up between releases.
$5 Patrons – This gets you everything! You will have access to the game 4 weeks before the public release. Teaser scenes from the upcoming releases. Regular polls to determine future game content. Access to the game’s walkthrough. Nude Character promos and artwork as well as any other goodies we dream up during the month.
All future releases of the game will include the animations for all tiers. This relieves us of the burden of separately coding, packaging and uploading the animation files.
Phasing out the Old Reward System
In the interest of keeping the Flash Poll fair, we did weigh the votes by each patron’s lifetime contribution. For example, if you have been a $20 patron from day one, then your lifetime contribution was $160. Thus your 1 vote was calculated as 160 votes. We did this because we felt it was more fair that long time, large dollar contributors should have a greater say in the outcome of this proposal. That said, the final weighted-vote count was 504 to 251 in favor of a two-tier system.
For those of you that are already patrons of $10 or above, please be advised that we are discontinuing additional rewards for those tiers. While you are not required to reduce your pledge, be advised that there will no longer be additional benefits associated with those tiers. While we of course appreciate it if you choose to pledge more than $5 all we can offer is our sincerest thanks and a promise that the additional time saved servicing those tiers is going towards the game.
If you’ve been following our new tracker (which Datadog has done a fabulous job of maintaining), you’ll notice that we’ve made a tweak to the version content. The new Cassie, Amanda, Jane scene has taken up the bulk of our current production efforts, but work is speeding away quickly on Emily’s scene. Given that this scene is approximately 1/3 the size of the triple girl pool scene, we’ll be looping it in the with the next distribution. We’re assessing development now but we’re looking to add additional content to the v1.2.0. We’ll update the tracker once we’ve made some firm decisions regarding the content.

During the last few months we’ve spent a crazy amount of time catching our story up. While that was happening, our homepage at doctoramana.com has gotten stale. To help ease up on some of the housekeeping that occurs in a month, Fecalmancer has offered to take control of that outpost and be responsible for content updates and upgrades. He has already updated the site banners using our new render tech and skin mods and the results are quite breath-taking. If you get a chance, head over and check it out. I know at the moment he’s buried deep in finishing up staging for the next release so further enhancements may be slow to come. However, he has some great ideas regarding content that will be unique and not repetitious. When he kicks the Developers Log back up it will be located there as well.
