Speaking of Games Worth Playing!

I recently had a chance to play Polarity by Sir Dammed/Eternity Games. I went into this with the same level of skepticism I do with all games, cause let’s face it, there is a lot of dog shit on the market. But I was very surprised with this one! 

The writing is excellent and in the spirit of games I tend to enjoy most, there are a lot of choices that impact the way the story unfolds. The mechanics are straight forward and enjoyable, and it’s fairly certain which outcome you’re moving towards by the choice itself. The animations are good and the characterization is very well done. 

So well done in fact that when I met Naomi, my heart kind of melted a little bit and I found myself not wanting to cheat on her…which sucks cause it’s a game full of hotties! (Will add that so far I have managed to stay faithful but we’ll see what happens). 

The fact that I played through this wanting to be true to a single character is a strong testament to the quality of the writing. 

Generally speaking, I only support other developers through patronage and go on about my day. I’m not a big fan of cross promotion because when you do that you’re not just recommending a game, you’re recommending a developer as well. And let’s face it, a lot of developers are pretentious dicks. 

But I had a chance to catch up with Master Dammed on discord and in our conversations it became clear that we were not only of a like mind in game design, but in player interaction as well. After a couple of days chatting I felt entirely comfortable not just recommending the game, but the developer as well.
